Radiotherapy Biological Tumor Control Probability Integral Equation Model with Analytic Determination

چکیده

The research objective was to obtain a fast/simple analytic solution for previously published Radiotherapy Tumor Control Probability (TCP) Integral Model by other authors. Finding, firstly, is new/simpler Function than Poisson distribution of survival clonogens which developed from classical biological model algebraic/numerically modified equation. Solution obtained this alternative based on Binomial equation approximation literature. Result, thus, its use developing fast/analytic the 2D [ α and β modelling parameters ] Cumulative TCP. Gaussian Normal convolution implemented with into integral sort longer/programming numerical methods determine an analytical expression. As complete result, formulation TCP Erf functions obtained. Applications radiotherapy treatment planning optimization improvements models are explained.

Tumor control probability predictions for genetic radiotherapy.

PURPOSE Genetic radiotherapy, the combination of gene therapy and radiation therapy, for cancer treatment is evolving from laboratory studies to clinical trials. Genetic radiotherapy involves the viral infection of cells that change the sensitivity of transduced cells to radiation. Because there is no patient outcome data for genetic radiotherapy, prospective models are needed to determine the ...

An Analytic Algorithm for Generalized Abel Integral Equation

In this paper, a homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and modified homotopy perturbation (MHPM) are proposed to solve singular integral equation with generalized Abel's kernel.

Tumor control probability reduction in gated radiotherapy of non‐small cell lung cancers: a feasibility study

We studied the feasibility of evaluating tumor control probability (TCP) reductions for tumor motion beyond planned gated radiotherapy margins. Tumor motion was determined from cone-beam CT projections acquired for patient setup, intrafraction respiratory traces, and 4D CTs for five non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients treated with gated radiotherapy. Tumors were subdivided into 1 mm sec...

Dose prescription complexity versus tumor control probability in biologically conformal radiotherapy.

The technical feasibility and potential benefits of voxel-based nonuniform dose prescriptions for biologically heterogeneous tumors have been widely demonstrated. In some cases, an "ideal" dose prescription has been generated by individualizing the dose to every voxel within the target, but often this voxel-based prescription has been discretized into a small number of compartments. The number ...

An integral equation model for Stefan problems with multiple phases

A boundary element formulation for the solution of multiple moving boundary problems is presented and tested herein. A heat transfer problem involving heating of solid, melting of solid and vaporisation of liquid is considered. Numerical results show that the boundary element method is more suitable and more accurate than both finite difference and finite element methods for this kind of problems
